The Blewitt Springs terroir combined with 20 and 55 year old vines results in wines which attain that elusive combination of power elegance and concentration.
The 2017 growing period was characterised by having exceptional winter and spring rains followed by a long relative cool harvest period. This has resulted in red wines with bright acid and deep colour and a fine tannin profile. Floral notes and red licorice, as is often described for the shiraz from the Blewitt Springs region, was expressive in the 2017 wines as were the white pepper notes in Grenache.
